Adding a Balcony to my flat roof extension

Adding a balcony to a flat roof can give an upstairs bedroom a private outdoor living space. To enable a balcony to be suitable, first the roof will need to be check and replaced if necessary.  A Fibreglass or glass reinforced plastic roof is a perfect roof as it is both non slip and easy on the eye. The coating can be coloured if required. You can also add a contemporary glass skylight with strengthened walk on glass to add that extra wow factor and an added source of light to the room below.  Once the flooring has been added the railings or panels can be installed to ensure safety.  Glass panels will give you an uninterrupted view. Planning permission maybe required, so check with your local planning department.  Depending on the size of the balcony you may wish to adding sun loungers or planting to enjoy soaking up the sun.
